Writing is Fun!

Whoever said, “Writing is fun?” Well, whoever said it probably didn’t attend graduate school or doctoral studies. Because in college and grad school – WRITING WAS NOT MUCH FUN! In writing for children, my mind is alive and busy with circus-like activity. Throughout the day (and night) – my mind envisions incredible new story lines and memorable and exciting new characters.…

It embellishes our memories and makes the past look and feel so much better than it really was. I have a relative whose skill as a storyteller is almost unsurpassed. From Hope to Hope!

I recently read a story of an eight-year-old boy who was playing left field in a Little League game. As he was standing out there in left field all by himself, a man yelled, “Hey son, whose winning?” The little boy replied, “WE ARE!” “What’s the score?” the man asked. The little boy said, “They’re ahead 23-0.” “You mean the other team is beating you 23-0? Well, I’m confused. I thought you said that you were winning.” “Oh we are,” said the little boy: “You…

Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Law Nolte

I’ve always loved Dorothy Law Nolte’s views of parenting and children growing up in today’s world.  This is perhaps one of my favorites:  “Children Learn What They Live”   If a child lives with criticism, he le犀利士 arns to condemn. If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight. If a child lives with fear, he learns to be apprehensive. If a child lives with pity, he learns to feel sorry for himself. If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be…
